Matt Nicholls

Director, IT Architecture And Development at G3

Matt Nicholls has a diverse work experience in various roles throughout their career. Matt is currently the Director of IT Architecture and Development at G3 since March 2021. Prior to this, they worked at ExxonMobil for over 16 years, holding positions such as Digital Transformation Opportunity Manager, North American Productivity Solutions Supervisor, Downstream IT Productivity Enablement Advisor, Downstream Refining & Supply Business Support Manager, Identity and Access Management Global Technical Design Lead, and Manager of Project Management Office. Before joining ExxonMobil, they worked at Imperial Oil as an eCommerce/Siebel Project Technical Lead and Web Technology Analyst, and at Celestica as a Material Requirements Planner and Technical Buyer. Matt has extensive experience in managing teams, implementing digital transformations, delivering productivity solutions, and overseeing IT projects.

Matt Nicholls attended the Ivey Business School at Western University from 1996 to 1999, where they obtained an Honors Business Administration (HBA) degree. In 1999, they participated in the Masters Business Administration Program at HELBUS Helsinki School of Business as an exchange student. From 1997 to 1998, they pursued a Computer Information Technology Certificate with Honours at Humber College, specializing in Information Technology. Prior to that, from 1994 to 1996, they studied Pre-Business with a focus on Honors Sociology and Administrative and Commercial Studies at Western University. In 2008, they obtained a Certificate in the Executive Education program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, specializing in Enterprise Leadership. In 2012, they completed a General Leadership Program with a Certificate in Executive Education at the Thunderbird School of Global Management. Matt Nicholls also holds two additional certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals obtained in 2020 from Microsoft, and Professional Scrum Master I obtained in 2020 from Scrum.org.
