After nearly 30 years of leading strategy and innovation across the wealth management, insurance, retirement and benefits verticals, Eric joined FutureFuel.io in 2021 as Chief Operating Officer to help tackle the student debt crisis. In this newly created position, Eric oversees the company’s innovation roadmap and global business operations. Reporting into Eric are such key business functions such as product, research, experience, data science, customer success, operations, digital solutions, engineering, finance and human resources. Eric also provides executive leadership and counsel to help steer the company as it enters a phase of rapid growth including recruiting top talent, expanding and diversifying its product offerings and market verticals, as well as securing partnerships with leading financial institutions, employers and benefit providers.
Prior to joining FutureFuel.io, Eric was one of the original architects of Newport Group, a nationally recognized retirement and insurance services firm with nearly $300 billion in assets under administration, where he held numerous leadership roles over the past two decades, most recently as Executive Vice President and Chief Solutions Officer. In that role, Eric led the firm’s global solutions, innovation and technology organizations, oversaw business transformation and fintech incubator and accelerator initiatives and was responsible for their award-winning digital presence, user experience and market-facing retirement and benefits solutions for their more than 30,000+ benefit plans and 1.5 million participants.
He began his career helming key strategic initiatives within Prudential Financial’s U.S. consumer, global operations and institutional divisions. Eric led global e-commerce and digital experience for the company’s 40 million customers, as well as service delivery strategy and product management for the firm’s wealth management, employee benefits and corporate services groups.
Eric earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing and economics from Muhlenberg College, his master’s degree in business administration from Seton Hall University and completed Executive International Studies programs at Seton Hall University and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
