Heidi Hansen McCrory is the university’s chief advancement officer and is responsible for annual and endowment support, planning and solicitation of major gifts and capital campaigns, alumni and parent relations, and donor relations and stewardship. She joined Furman in 2018 after serving four years as vice president for college relations at Kenyon College in Ohio.
McCrory also spent 14 years at Sweet Briar College in Virginia, serving as associate vice president for development (2000-06), vice president for development (2006-09) and vice president for alumnae and development (2009-14).
Her other higher education experience includes stints as director of development at Randolph-Macon Woman’s College (1997-2000), director of development for academic programs at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (1993-97) and director of development at New England College (1990-93).
McCrory is a graduate of Southern Methodist University, and earned a master’s degree in English at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is a member of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), where she teaches new fundraisers and sits on the Liberal Arts Advisory Council.
