Daniel Augusto da Silva, PhD, currently serves as a Postdoctoral Researcher at FURB - Universidade de Blumenau since September 2022, focusing on developing algorithms for forest structure data extraction from UAV-collected multispectral and Lidar data. Previous roles include Research Associate, where forest loss detection methods were created for Santa Catarina, and Data Analyst at Semex Brasil, developing SQL and Power BI reports for various company sectors. Daniel's experience extends to roles as Field Forest Engineer, Environmental Analyst, and various internships in forestry and environmental education. Academically, Daniel holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from FURB and has completed additional certifications in Data Science and AI from Coursera, enhancing expertise in remote sensing, statistics, and machine learning.
