Tyler Newman has worked in the software engineering industry since 2015. In that time, they have held several roles with various companies. From 2015 to 2017, they were an Undergraduate Research Assistant at CIRDLES, a Content Development Intern at Hawkes Learning, a Host at Atlantic City Country Club, and a Software Engineer, Associate Software Engineer, and Software Engineering Consultant/Intern at BoomTown - Real Estate Platform. In 2017, they also Co-Founded Pickup, a mobile application that allows people to create and join local pickup games for sports such as soccer and basketball. In 2019, they Co-Founded BzzTxt and in 2020 they were a Software Development Engineer II at Microsoft. Currently, they are a Senior Platform Engineer at Funnel Leasing.

Tyler Newman attended College of Charleston from 2014 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Tyler then returned to College of Charleston from 2017 to 2019 and earned a Master of Science in Computer and Information Sciences.
