Justin Loe has a long and varied work experience. Justin began their career in 1993 as a Research Assistant in the Chemistry Department at James Madison University, funded through a National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates (NSF-REU). Justin then moved to the National Institutes of Health as a Research Assistant in the Clinical Psychobiology Branch, researching differences in volume of the pituitary gland using MRI between seasonally depressed patients and controls. In 1999, they became an Independent Computer Consultant, installing and doing troubleshooting of computer software for companies in Virginia, DC, and New Jersey. Justin then worked as a Clerical Assistant and Analysis at Tropicana in 2001, performing a variety of clerical tasks as well as analyzing a set of data from the Tropicana workflow. In 2002, they became a Research Assistant in the Psychology Department at Virginia Tech, performing research using EEG and measuring cognitive performance in college students and smokers. In 2004, they joined the University of Virginia as a Research Assistant in the Department of Neurology, involved in cognitive research on Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's Disease and dementia, as well as programming E-Prime software to develop tools to assess patients' cognitive status. In 2013, they became the CEO of Full Genomes, Inc.
Justin Loe has a diverse educational background. Justin began their educational journey at Harrisonburg High School, where they graduated in 1991. Justin then attended Harvard University for a brief period in 1991-1992. In 1994, they graduated with a BA in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. From 2002-2005, they studied Psychology at Virginia Tech. Justin then attended George Mason University from 2005-2010, studying Neuroscience. In 2010, they earned a Master's degree in Bioinformatics from The Johns Hopkins University. In 2001, they also attended Claremont Graduate University, studying Political Science and Government. Additionally, Justin Loe has obtained certifications from Coursera and edX, including Introduction to Financial Markets, Geopolitics of Europe, and MUS24.3x: First Nights - Beethoven's 9th.
