Amy Thoms (CG) ASCP has a diverse work experience spanning from 2004 to the present. Amy began their career as a Park and Recreation Leader and Tutor at the City of Riverside, where they taught and supervised social and behavioral skills, aided in homework completion, and conducted art and crafts programs. Amy then worked as a Lifeguard at the City of Riverside, ensuring pool safety and providing first aid.

In 2006, Amy joined Bio-Tox Laboratories Inc. as a Laboratory/Forensic Technician, where they processed samples, performed drug screening analysis, and followed chain-of-custody procedures. Amy then moved on to Genesis Laboratories Inc. in 2009 as a Laboratory Technician, handling accessioning, culturing, harvesting, and analyzing various samples for chromosome analysis.

Amy's career in the medical field continued at City of Hope in 2012, where they worked as a Clinical Technician and later as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist Trainee and Clinical Technologist I. Amy'sresponsibilities included culturing and harvesting samples, preparing slides, conducting GTG banding, and identifying chromosomal abnormalities and cancer diseases.

Amy's most recent role is with FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific, where they started in 2019 as an Inside Technical Specialist - Cytogenetics. Amy contributed to business plans, supported distribution channels, and provided customer service in relation to quotes and order requirements. In 2022, they transitioned to the role of Technical Sales and Marketing Specialist - Cytogenetics, focusing on achieving sales targets, developing relationships with key accounts, and collaborating with marketing and internal departments for product development and promotional activities.

Throughout their career, Amy has consistently demonstrated their expertise and proficiency in cytogenetics, maintaining sterile techniques, and ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Amy Thoms (CG) ASCP obtained a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from California State University-San Bernardino in 2008. During the same time period, they also pursued a degree in Biology from the same institution. In June 2016, Amy Thoms (CG) ASCP obtained the Clinical Laboratory Specialist in Cytogenetics (CLSp(CG)) certification from the CA Department of Public Health.
