Perumal (Siva) Sivashanmugam currently serves as Principal Scientist/Group Leader at FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies, where responsibilities include overseeing method establishment and process characterization for cGMP manufacturing of recombinant biopharmaceuticals. Prior to this role, Perumal held the title of Associate Principal Scientist at Merck, focusing on analytical studies for therapeutic monoclonal antibodies and nanobodies, and contributing significantly to method development and protein characterization. Experience also includes positions as Senior Scientist at Merck and Principal Scientist at Sanofi Pasteur, where Perumal led analytical method development for biologics and flu vaccine manufacturing, respectively. Earlier roles at Pfizer involved vaccine formulation development and stabilization techniques. Perumal holds a PhD in Medical Sciences (Biochemistry) from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and advanced degrees from Duke University and University of Madras in endocrinology.
