Claims Support Specialist

Your Role as a Claims Support Specialist

As a Claims Support Specialist, you’ll handle various administrative and operational tasks to ensure the efficiency of the Claims department. From processing mail and managing claim correspondence to supporting the legal team, your contributions will be instrumental in delivering an outstanding experience to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer claims phone lines, manage First Notice of Loss (FNOL) entries, and route status inquiries to appropriate teams.

  • Process failed portal submissions and expedited claims correspondence through XPS Shipper.

  • Send Reservation of Rights (ROR) and Denial letters via certified mail platforms.

  • Manage and process incoming mail, including UPS, USPS, FedEx, and Priority Mail packages.

  • Process void/stop payments and reissue checks when required.

  • Provide administrative support to the legal team by handling new Civil Remedy Notices (CRNs) and Mediation requests.

  • Process invoices for mediators, independent adjusters, umpires, and defense counsel.

  • Pull and share Power BI reports with Claims Management.

  • Share claim and underwriting files with defense counsel via SharePoint.

  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the manager.

What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • 1-4 years of relevant experience or training preferred.

  • Florida 620 Adjuster’s License is required.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations.

  • Proficient typing skills (45-60 WPM) and moderate knowledge of Microsoft Word and email programs.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to navigate and document various office systems effectively after training.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, correspondence, and memos.

  • Skilled in writing clear and professional correspondence.

  • Capable of effectively presenting information to clients, customers, and team members in small group settings.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Proficiency in basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Abilities:

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to apply common sense to written, oral, or diagram instructions.

  • Capable of handling problems with several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Work Environment

  • This is an in-office role with a moderate noise level.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit, use hands, and talk or hear.
