Erika founded Janifer and Associates, LLC in 2014, where they provide management consulting solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and public sector clients. Their role as the owner involves assisting SME owners in scaling their businesses, improving profitability, and developing growth strategies. Erika also specializes in optimizing processes and empowering leadership to drive sustainable results.

In 2022, Erika joined Frontline Gig as the Chief Operating Officer. Frontline Gig is a platform that facilitates the deployment of freelance workers for green jobs on-demand. Erika's responsibilities in this role include managing the scheduling and deployment of gig teams, ensuring consistent cleanliness and maintenance of green spaces throughout the day.

Before founding their own consulting firm, Erika worked at Malcolm Pirnie, Inc. from 2004 to 2014 as an Engineer. During their tenure, they played a crucial role in infrastructure project development, managing clients in both private industry and the government/public sector. Erika Janifer, P.E., BCEE holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Yale School of Management, obtained between 2017 and 2019. Erika also completed their Master of Science (MS) in Civil Engineering at Virginia Tech from 2007 to 2008. Erika Janifer has a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science, both earned from Swarthmore College from 2000 to 2004. Additionally, they have studied Accounting at the University of Virginia. Erika Janifer holds several certifications including being a Board Certified Environmental Engineer from the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists, having a Pipeline Assessment Certification from the National Association of Sewer Service Companies, and being a Professional Engineer recognized by the Board of Professional Engineering, District of Columbia.
