Nipuna Mediwake has a strong and diverse work experience spanning over several years. They started their career in 1997 as a Management Consultant at EY. They then moved on to roles at Growth Lanka (Pvt) Ltd as a Finance Manager and Financial Controller. After that, they joined Fonterra and held various positions including Senior Manager Finance Operations, Senior Manager Sales & Operational Planning, Site Head of Finance, and Financial Controller - Commercial Finance. In 2013, Nipuna became the Group Chief Financial Officer at Asiri Group Of Hospitals, where they also served as a Non-Executive Director for two companies within the group. Nipuna later became the Director/Chief Financial Officer at Softlogic Australia Pty Ltd before ending up at their current position as the Financial Controller at Frontier Software. In this role, they are responsible for finance, payroll, legal, and HR functions and directly manage a team of 8 employees.

Nipuna Mediwake's education history starts with their graduation from The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in 1998, where they earned the degree of Fellow Chartered Management Accountant with a focus on Accounting and Business/Management. In 1996, Nipuna attended the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Special) Hons degree in Commerce. They furthered their education at the University of Colombo from 2009 to 2011, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a focus on Business/Commerce, General.
