Matteo Plachesi has a diverse range of work experience in marketing, communications, and event production. In their most recent position at Frieze, they served as the Marketing Director. Prior to that, they were the Head of Marketing and Membership at Frieze. Matteo also worked as a Trustee at The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre.

Matteo has also had a successful freelance career, working as a keynote speaker and lecturer. Matteo has demonstrated their talent in theater production as well, having worked as a Theatre Producer for Nordic Nomad Productions and a Theatre Assistant Producer for Les Enfants Terrible Theatre Company and Pins & Needles Productions.

Matteo began their career as a Corporate Events Author/Producer at Mismaonda, an events management agency. Matteo was involved in devising events, pitching proposals to clients, arranging logistics, and managing interactive digital content for live events.

In 2005, they began their undergraduate studies at Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna, where they pursued a degree in Arts and Culture Management, focusing on culture, economics, and arts. Matteo completed their undergraduate program in 2008.

In 2006, Matteo Plachesi furthered their education by enrolling in the University of Greenwich, where they pursued a Master's degree in Arts Management. This program focused on arts management and economics. Matteo completed their Master's degree in 2007.
