Embedded Software Engineer at Frequenz

Andrew Stevenson has a diverse work experience that spans over two decades. Andrew is currently working as an Embedded Software Engineer at Frequenz since September 2020. Prior to this, they worked at Sociomantic Labs for seven years starting from June 2013, where they held the position of Senior Software Developer. At Sociomantic Labs, they focused on developing real-time Internet scale apps using D and Linux. Before that, they worked at IBM from September 2004 to June 2013, where they served as a Senior Software Engineer (Cloud Operations). Andrew was part of an international team that supported the running of the IBM Websphere Castiron cloud, handling system administration, development, and customer support. Andrew also worked for Micromuse, which was acquired by IBM in 2006. During their time at Micromuse, from September 2004 to June 2006, Andrew specialized in integrations between Netcool Omnibus and various other technologies using C, C++, Java on multiple platforms such as AIX, Solaris, HP/UX, Linux, and Windows.

Prior to their tenure at IBM and Micromuse, Andrew worked at NTT Australia IP as a UNIX Architect. Andrew joined the company in 2002 and was responsible for development, system administration, and architecture for the Australian subsidiary of NTT Communications. Andrew handled both customer-facing and internal systems and also dealt with IPv6 issues.

Andrew's career began at Griffith University, where they worked as a Tutor from 2000 to 2001. During this time, they prepared and delivered tutorials, created and marked assignments, and participated in exam marking.

Andrew Stevenson attended Griffith University from 2000 to 2001, where they obtained a Bachelor of IT degree in Computer Software Engineering. In addition to their formal education, Andrew also obtained an Amateur Radio License (Full) from OfCom (UK) in November 2009.
