Krista Paredes, PE has over 15 years of work experience in civil engineering and project management. Krista began their career as a CAD Editor at Aero-Metric, Inc. in 2005, where they worked with surveyors and cartographers to compile data obtained from LiDAR flights. Krista then moved on to AAA, where they served as a GIS Analyst and was responsible for updating, correcting, and compiling data for the GIS database of major highways and local roads for several states.
In 2006, Krista joined Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. as a CAD Designer in the land development division. Krista'sresponsibilities included preliminary design of civil systems for large-scale residential, commercial, and multi-family developments. Krista helped lay out roads, parcels, and open spaces.
Krista's next role was as a co-founder and co-president of the Engineers Without Borders chapter at UTSA. Krista started the student chapter, completed all required documentation, and organized fundraising activities to support a project in Peru.
From 2008 to 2010, Krista worked at The University of Texas at San Antonio as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant. Krista'sresearch focused on nanoparticles and their effects on the environment. As a Teaching Assistant, they reviewed and graded homework and tests for multiple engineering courses and filled in as a lecturer for Engineering Economic Analysis.
In 2011, Krista joined Wiles-Mensch Corporation as a Project Engineer. Krista worked on commercial, multi-family, and educational land development projects in the D.C. area.
Starting in 2012, Krista began their tenure at AECOM (formerly URS Corporation). Krista initially served as a Water/Wastewater Engineer and later transitioned to the role of Project Manager. Krista'sresponsibilities included managing and overseeing water-related projects.

Krista obtained their Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas at San Antonio, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that, they completed an Associates degree in Architectural & Engineering Technology from the University of Alaska Anchorage, attending from 2002 to 2004.
