Richard Romano

Sr Engineer at Freeform

Richard Romano has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Richard started their career in 1996 as a VP of Engineering at Morpheus Lights. Later, they worked as a Sr Mechanical Engineer at Tamarack Scientific from 2001 to 2007 before becoming a Product Manager / Applications Lab Manager at the same company until 2012.

In 2012, Richard founded their own company, Romano Motion Technologies, where they served as the CTO until 2015. Richard then joined Velo3D as a Senior Mech Engineer from 2015 to 2018.

Following their time at Velo3D, Richard worked as a Senior Engineer at Clearist from 2018 to 2019. Richard also founded GTR-Engineeri in 2019.

In 2019, Richard joined Freeform as a Senior Engineer and continued in that role until 2022 when they became a Senior Scientist Mechanical at Bright Ceramic Technologies.

Richard Romano began their education at Moorpark College in 1979, where they studied laser electro-optic technology and electrical engineering. Richard attended Moorpark College until 1984. From 1982 to 1984, Richard also attended CalState Northridge, where they studied applied physics and mechanical engineering. In 1986, Richard enrolled at De Anza College and pursued electrical and electronics engineering studies until 1987. Richard has not obtained any degrees during their education history.
