Kelly Ume has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Most recently, they worked as a Corporate Strategy Administrator at Freedom Consulting Group, where they collaborated with C level executives and senior leaders to manage and track corporate strategies and objectives. Prior to that, they served as an Assistant Director of Summer Day Camp at New Life Christian Center Camp Life, where they managed daily operations, staff, and activities for youth. Kelly also worked as a Special Projects Administrator at Educators Serving The Communities, preparing new hire orientation materials, handling employee onboarding, and providing HR support.

Earlier in their career, Kelly served as an Administrative Assistant III-Distant Learning Program at Howard University College of Pharmacy, reviewing documentation and applications, coordinating interviews, and conducting non-traditional interviews of pharmacists. Kelly also worked as a Staff Assistant Administrator at the State University of New York-Downstate Medical Center, where they assisted with sourcing materials and services, screened prospective pre-med students, and reviewed applications. Additionally, Kelly worked as an Administrative Assistant at John Jay College (CUNY), scheduling and coordinating meetings and events, advising students, and managing the department chair's schedule.

Kelly Ume completed a Certificate in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration from Villanova University in 2019. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Public Administration from John Jay College (CUNY) in 2011.
