Manizja Aziz is an experienced Project Officer specializing in the safety of journalists at Free Press Unlimited since February 2019. Primary responsibilities include implementing the global emergency fund "Reporters Respond," coordinating the Journalists in Distress Network, and offering emergency support to journalists in EU candidate states while fostering partnerships across Europe and the MENA region. Manizja has also served as the Knowledge & Quality Officer, conducting research on journalist safety and contributing to the Monitoring, Learning & Evaluation cycle. Previous roles include Assistant Political Affairs at Amnesty International The Netherlands and board member at ASA International Law, alongside an internship at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Manizja holds advanced degrees in International Development and International Relations, as well as a Master of Laws in International and European Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences.
