Chief Of Police at Franklin Police Department

Thomas Lynch has over 20 years of experience in law enforcement. Thomas began their career in 1998 as the Search and Rescue Manager for the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council (METROLEC), where they supervised 80 police officers and coordinated all search and rescue missions. In 2001, Lynch joined the Franklin Police Department as a Lieutenant, where they supervised a staff of 33 police officers and 5 supervisors. Thomas'sresponsibilities included making operational decisions, strategic planning, resolving concerns and complaints, evaluating employee performance, and managing criminal cases. Lynch was promoted to Deputy Chief of Police in 2015 and then became the Chief of Police in 2016. In their current role, they are responsible for the overall management and leadership of the Franklin Police Department.

Thomas Lynch's education history includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology & Law from Suffolk University, which they obtained from 1988 to 1992. Thomas pursued further education at Framingham State University, where they earned a Master of Arts degree in Public Administration from 2001 to 2005. In 2017, Lynch attended the FBI National Academy, session #270, to enhance their knowledge in Law Enforcement Leadership & Administration.
