David Harquail is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the mining and finance sectors. Currently serving as Chair of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer at Franco-Nevada Corporation since October 2007, Harquail was instrumental in leading the company's initial public offering on the Toronto Stock Exchange and transitioned to Chair in 2020. Prior to this role, Harquail was Executive Vice President at Newmont Mining Corporation, overseeing significant operations, including Newmont Capital, where royalty income saw substantial growth. With a foundation in the Franco-Nevada group of companies, Harquail contributed to transforming the organization into the world’s largest precious metals royalty company. Educational credentials include a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from McGill University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Geological/Geophysical Engineering from the University of Toronto.
