Helena Manning-Shannon PT, GCS, LSVT has over 30 years of work experience in the field of physical therapy. Helena began their career as a Rotating Physical Therapist at New England Rehabilitation in 1988, where they gained experience in various settings. In 1990, they worked as an Out-patient Physical Therapist at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital for a year.

From 1992 to 2008, Helena worked as a Homecare Physical Therapist at South Shore Hospital, where they treated a wide variety of diagnoses and focused on caregiver education and community resource assistance. During this time, they also developed skills in computer-based documentation.

In 2008, Helena joined Kindred Healthcare/Peoplefirst Rehab as a Physical Therapist, providing patient care to long-term care buildings and specialty units. Helena gained experience in working with patients with Alzheimer's/dementia and facilitated care for cross-cultural patients.

From 2011 to 2018, Helena served as a Team Lead Physical Therapist at Life Care Centers of America. Helena trained and taught staff and caregivers regarding health care and rehabilitation techniques and conducted subacute rehab care to assist patients in a safe return to the community. Helena also acquired extensive knowledge in computer-based documentation during this role.

Currently, Helena is working at FOX Rehabilitation since 2017 as a Team Lead PT. Helena is responsible for delivering quality care to home and outpatient residents and attends to adult and geriatric patients in a healthcare facility. Helena also mentors and leads cross-functional teams for process and performance improvement.

Throughout their career, Helena has consistently focused on delivering quality care, improving documentation, and achieving superior patient outcomes. Helena has gained expertise in a wide range of areas, including cultural sensitivity, Alzheimer's/dementia care, and computer-based documentation.

Helena Manning-Shannon PT, GCS, LSVT has a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Physical Therapy/Therapist from Boston University- Sargent College, which was completed between 1984 and 1988. In 2015, they obtained Geriatric Specialty Certification from the American Physical Therapy Association. In 2020, Helena obtained LSVT certification from LSVT Big.
