Bahar Yılmazel has a diverse work experience in the field of bioinformatics. Bahar began their career as a Clinical Bioinformatics Analyst at Foundation Medicine in September 2014, where they worked until April 2016. Bahar then worked as a Clinical Bioinformatics Analyst II from April 2016 to October 2016, before being promoted to Lead, Clinical Bioinformatics Operations, a role they held from October 2016 to June 2018. From July 2018 to October 2019, Bahar served as a Bioinformatics Scientist at Foundation Medicine. Bahar then transitioned to the role of Manager, Lifecycle Product Development from October 2019 to March 2021, followed by Senior Manager, Lifecycle Product Development from March 2021 to September 2023. Currently, they hold the position of Associate Director, Lifecycle Product Development at Foundation Medicine from September 2023 onwards.
Prior to their time at Foundation Medicine, Bahar worked as a Bioinformatics Intern at Harvard Medical School from January 2013 to June 2013. Bahar then returned to Harvard Medical School as a Visiting Postgrad Research Fellow from August 2013 to August 2014.
Bahar Yılmazel completed a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Bioinformatics from Northeastern University, which they attended from 2011 to 2013.
