Rick Lanman, MD

Rick Lanman, MD has held a variety of roles in the medical industry since 2005. From 2005 to 2008, they served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of diaDexus, Inc. During this time, they were responsible for developing the PLAC (TM) test, the only FDA cleared blood test with an indication for predicting risk of ischemic stroke. From 2008 to 2014, they were the Chief Medical Officer of Veracyte, Inc., where they drove multicenter clinical trials from study design to commercialization of novel, patent-protected diagnostic and therapeutic products with high clinical value. In 2014, they became an Advisor and Global Chief Medical Officer of Guardant Health, where they drove insurance coverage for the novel technology, collaborated with key thought leaders and premier medical institutions, and achieved strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical companies around pivotal clinical trials. From 2011 to 2012, they served as the President of the Institute for Historical Ecology. From 2017 to 2021, they served as an Advisor and Medical Director of Forward, as well as a Board of Directors member of Biolase, Inc. and CIRCULOGENE. In 2021, they became an Advisor of Glympse Bio and a Board of Directors member of TwiXimo Therapeutics, Inc.

Rick Lanman, MD obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Stanford University between 1973 and 1977. Rick then attended Northwestern University - The Feinberg School of Medicine, where they earned their MD in 1980. Rick completed an Internship in Medicine at Northwestern University - The Feinberg School of Medicine/Northwestern Memorial Hospital in 1981, and also an Internship in Medicine at University of California, San Francisco - School of Medicine that same year. From 1982 to 1985, they completed a Residency in Psychiatry at University of California, San Francisco/Langley Porter Psychiatric Institute & San Francisco Veteran's Administration Medical Center. Finally, in 1990 they obtained Board Certification in Psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
