Previously, Leonardo served as Vice President HR at ING Italia from 2005 to 2007, Manager at Codere from 2002 to 2005, and Manager at Technicolor from 1999 to 2002. Early in the career, Leonardo was Segretario Generale at UnionAlimentari - Confapi from 1992 to 1999. Educational background includes a Laurea Magistrale in Scienze dell'Economia e della Gestione Aziendale from Università degli Studi di Brescia.
