Rares Matei has a diverse work experience, starting in 2009 as a TV Technician at Dr. Video. In 2012, they worked as a Technical Assistant at Orange and also as a Sales Agent at Adax Anvelope. In 2017, they worked as a Mover at Olympia Moving & Storage. In 2018, they served as a Fine Mechanic Engineer at Nastimed Dentexpert. From 2019 to 2021, they worked as a Software Quality Assurance Tester at SMEDIX Inc. Currently, they are employed as a QA Engineer at Fortech, starting in August 2021.

Rares Matei completed their education at various institutions. Rares started their academic journey in 2006 at the Technical School of Communications "Augustin Maior" where they pursued a Baccalaureate degree in Telecommunications Technician. After their graduation in 2009, they went on to enroll at the Technical University of Cluj Napoca. From 2010 to 2014, they earned a Licentiate degree in Fine Mechanics and Nanotechnology. Rares later pursued their Master's degree at the same university, specializing in Precision Engineering and Quality Management, which they completed from 2014 to 2016. Additionally, in March 2023, Rares Matei obtained a certification in SQL for Testers from LinkedIn.
