Elissa Ellis Sangster has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Elissa began their career in 1989 as an Assistant Buyer for Neiman Marus, before transitioning to a Communications Specialist role at Exxon Chemical Company in 1990. From 1992 to 1994, Elissa worked as a Communications Specialist at Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. Elissa then moved into the field of higher education, serving as the Assistant Director of the MBA Program at Mays School of Business from 1994 to 1997. Elissa then joined the University of Texas at Austin, where they worked as the Director of Alumni Relations for the MBA Program at the McCombs School of Business from 1997 to 2001. Elissa was then promoted to the role of Assistant Dean and Director of the MBA Program at McCombs School of Business, a position they held from 2001 to 2004. Since 2004, Elissa has been the CEO of Forte Foundation, an organization dedicated to empowering women in the workplace.
Elissa Ellis Sangster completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Texas A&M University between 1985 and 1989. Elissa then pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Marketing from Mays Business School at Texas A&M University from 1992 to 1994. In 2005, they attended Harvard Business School Executive Education for a program called "Strategic Perspectives in Non-Profit Management."
