Charles Guan is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in software engineering and data science. Currently serving as Software Technical Lead at Forest Neurotech since 2024, Guan previously held positions including Senior Data Scientist (BCI) at AE Studio and Data Analysis Instructor at The Carpentries, where expertise in Python, Keras, DataFrames, and Git was imparted to scientists at prominent institutions. As a PhD Candidate at Caltech from 2018 to 2023, research focused on neural prosthetics for individuals with paralysis, complemented by roles as Head Teaching Assistant in Machine Learning & Data Mining. Additional experiences include data science internships at Verily and research at HRL Laboratories, as well as prior engineering roles at Square and Stanford University. Guan holds a PhD from Caltech, an MS from Stanford University, and a BSH in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, alongside early education at Phillips Academy.
