Emery Goossens has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. They began their career as an intern at the William J. Clinton Foundation in 2008. In 2010, they interned at Natixis, where they wrote daily and weekly analyses of USD and EUR bond markets and created presentations for clients. Emery then joined the University of Toronto in 2014 as a research assistant, working with Prof. Lei Sun on hypothesis testing methods in genome-wide association studies. They also conducted research at the Purdue Center for Cancer Research in 2016, working as a research assistant and analyzing single-cell RNA-seq data. In 2017, Emery interned at Illumina. They then worked as a data scientist at Recursion Pharmaceuticals from 2018 to 2019. Following that, they joined Tempus Labs, Inc. as a machine learning scientist from 2019 to 2021. Currently, Emery Goossens holds the position of Senior Machine Learning Scientist at Foresite Labs, which they started in 2021.
Emery Goossens has a strong educational background in statistics and economics. They obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from New York University in 2010. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Mathematical Statistics at Purdue University, which they completed in 2018. In 2013, Emery continued their studies in statistics at the University of Toronto and obtained a Master's degree. Finally, from 2014 to 2019, Emery Goossens pursued a Ph.D. in Statistics at Purdue University.
