Shireen Zaman is an experienced program officer at the Ford Foundation, focusing on organizational strengthening and grantmaking across US and global teams since August 2021. Previously, Shireen served as the Program Director of the RISE Together Fund at The Proteus Fund from November 2013 to August 2021, where leadership included rebranding efforts and prioritizing racial justice. Other notable roles include Executive Director at the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding, Director for the Middle East and North Africa at Vital Voices Global Partnership, and various positions within the U.S. Department of State and Congressional Hunger Center. Shireen holds degrees in International Communications from American University and Human Development from Boston College, with additional studies in Arabic from the American University in Cairo.
