Emmanuel Ogutu has a strong background in risk management and compliance. Most recently, they served as the Vice President of Risk and Assurance at Food for the Hungry, Inc. Prior to that, they held the role of Sr. Director of Risk Management & Compliance at the same organization. In this role, they oversaw global safety and security, internal auditing, enterprise risk management (ERM), and ethics and compliance. Emmanuel successfully led the transformation of the internal audit function and designed a framework for ERM operations.

Before joining Food for the Hungry, Inc., Emmanuel worked as the Internal Audit Program Manager for the City of Glendale AZ. Emmanuel was responsible for transforming the city's audit function into a performance-driven entity and aligning it with the city's objective of providing exceptional municipal services. Emmanuel led a team of auditors and implemented an audit analytics tool that significantly improved the financial efficiency of city operations.

Emmanuel also has experience in grants compliance and government finance, serving as the Director of Grants Compliance and Government Finance at Food for the Hungry, Inc. Additionally, they have worked in auditing and financial management roles at HQ IMCOM, US Army (NAF), Food for the Hungry, Inc., USAID, HOPE International, Kenya Safari Lodges and Hotels, EAEP Ltd, and Finance Sudan Limited.

Emmanuel Ogutu obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Economic Crimes and Fraud Management from Utica University between 2014 and 2016. Prior to that, they completed a BBA (Hons) degree in Accounting & Finance at Kenya Methodist University from 2009 to 2011. Emmanuel also holds a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-Kenya) qualification from a private institution, which they obtained from 2000 to 2003. Emmanuel has obtained additional certifications including RIMS-Certified Risk Management Professional from RIMS (Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc.) in 2022, Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) in 2011, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) from The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. in 2008, and Certified Public Accountant of Kenya from ICPAK in 2004.
