Pavel Štěpánek

Member Of The Supervisory Board and Chief Economist at Fondee

Pavel Štěpánek has a diverse work experience in the fields of economics, finance, and academia. Pavel is currently serving as a Member of the Supervisory Board and Chief Economist at Fondee since March 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Lecturer at Prague University of Economics and Business (University of Economics, Prague) from 1998 onwards.

Štěpánek has also held positions at various organizations, including being a Board Member & Public and Institutional Relations at DIVÉI PRIME from December 2020. Pavel was a Member of the Oversight Committee for PRIBOR at CFBFC starting from January 2017. Pavel has also served as a Member of the Academic Council at the College of Regional Development and Banking Institute – AMBIS since 2015.

Furthermore, Štěpánek has contributed to the editorial board of Bankovnictví from January 2014 until November 2022. Pavel has been a Member of the Scientific Council at the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, Prague University of Economics and Business since 2014.

Prior to these roles, Štěpánek held the position of Managing Director at the Czech Banking Association from 2011 to 2020. Pavel was a Member of the Scientific Council at Prague University of Economics and Business, Faculty of Economics from July 2006 to October 2014. Pavel also served as a Member of the Board of Directors at EBRD from 2007 to 2011.

Pavel Štěpánek holds a strong education background in the field of Finance, with a focus on General Finance. Pavel obtained a Master's degree from the Prague University of Economics and Business between the years 1975 and 1979. Following this, Pavel pursued further academic achievements and received a Certificate of Science (PhD) in Finance, General from the same institution from 1983 to 1987. Pavel has also obtained additional certifications in their field. Pavel completed a Certificate in Public Finance from the International Monetary Fund in 1992, and a Certificate in Macroeconomics from the same institution in 1990.
