Alexis Hope has diverse work experience in design, research, and leadership roles. Alexis is currently the Co-Founder of Focused, a platform that helps individuals establish healthy work routines and reach their goals. Prior to this, they worked as a Creative Director at TEN FWD, specializing in designing playful and experimental objects and experiences. Alexis was also a Designer & Researcher at MIT Media Lab, focusing on creating various technologies, events, and artworks. Alexis served as a Capacity Development Coordinator at Ocean Discovery League, where they designed accessible opportunities and technologies for deep-ocean exploration. Alexis has also worked as a Designer & Researcher at Meta, Founder of FOLD, and a Researcher at both Northwestern University and University of Washington. Their expertise in UX analysis was demonstrated during their time as a UX Analyst at Razorfish.
Alexis Hope completed their education at several prestigious institutions. Alexis attended the University of Washington from 2005 to 2012, where they earned both a Bachelor of Science (BS) and a Master of Science (MS). Their field of study during this time was focused on Human-Centered Design & Engineering and Human-Computer Interaction. After completing their undergraduate and graduate degrees, Alexis moved on to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2013. Alexis pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the MIT Media Lab and successfully completed their studies in 2021. Additionally, in 2016, they attended the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, where they obtained an Industrial & Furniture Design Certificate.
