Michael Martin has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. In their most recent role, they serve as a Certified FocalPoint Business and Executive Coach at FocalPoint, where their mission is to uncover possibilities and unlock freedom for business leaders. Prior to this, they were the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Top Down Strategies, a position they held concurrently with their role as an Advisory Board Member at Gaggle Social.

Before their ventures in coaching and entrepreneurship, Michael held various positions in consulting and technology companies. Michael was the Director at SimplyPut Consulting, where they worked with C-Suite leaders and Private Equity firms to solve complex business and technology challenges. Michael was also a Director, Enterprise Solutions and Services at Baker Tilly US, specializing in improving enterprise operations and implementing business technology solutions.

Earlier in their career, Michael worked at BTRG in several capacities, including SVP Solution Sales and Technology, Director of Cloud Technology, and Practice Director, Information Governance. Michael also had roles as an Engagement and Practice Manager, Senior Solutions Manager, and Senior Consultant at the company. Prior to joining BTRG, they were an ERP Consultant at KPMG and served as the BTRG Data Management Practice Director at both KPMG and the Municipality of Anchorage.

In addition to their professional endeavors, Michael has a background in music and has been a professional drummer for over 30 years. Michael has studied with renowned drummers and has music on streaming platforms with their former band Lo-Fi Genius. Michael also runs an online drum lesson website called Top Down Drumming, in collaboration with Martin Bradfield.

Michael Martin completed their high school education at Bishop Hoban High School from 1986 to 1990. Michael then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Villanova University, graduating in 1994. In addition to their formal education, Michael also obtained several certifications, including:

- Oracle Financials Cloud: General Ledger 2018 Certified Implementation Specialist from Oracle in September 2019.

- Freshdesk product expert certification from Freshworks in March 2019.
