Helmut Ettl is an experienced banking and finance professional with a strong background in European financial regulation. Currently serving as Vice Chairperson and Member of the Board of Supervisors at the European Banking Authority since January 2011, Helmut Ettl also holds positions as Co-Chair of the Advisory Committee on Proportionality and Member of the Management Board. Helmut Ettl has been the Executive Director at FMA Finanzmarktaufsicht Österreich since 2008 and a Member of the Supervisory Board at the European Central Bank since November 2013. Additionally, Helmut Ettl is a Member of the General Board of the European Systemic Risk Board since January 2011 and was a Member of the Committee of European Banking Supervisors from February 2008 to December 2010. Helmut Ettl's career began at Oesterreichische Nationalbank, where service extended from September 1995 to February 2008. Helmut Ettl holds a Master's degree in Economics from Johannes Kepler Universität Linz.
