Dd Flynn has been in the marketing industry since 1989. In 1989, they began working for Canada Life Assurance Company as a Sales Promotions and Communications Supervisor. In 2001, they became the Principal of Flynn Marketing Group, Inc. dba Proforma Flynn Marketing, providing strategic consulting, branding and marketing, promotional items, printing, fulfillment and distribution, graphic design, radio and TV advertising, and more. In 2005, they began volunteering for Drug Free Cherokee.

Dd Flynn graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. After graduation, they attended the University of Southern California and received a Master of Arts in Education in 2012. Dd then went on to pursue a Doctor of Education from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2015, which they completed in 2018.
