Yannik Sander

Software Engineer at Flox

Yannik Sander has diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Yannik started their career at BATT GmbH in 2016, where they worked as a Software Development Engineer until 2018. Yannik then joined Wambo as a Software Developer from 2018 to 2020. During this time, they gained valuable experience in software development. In 2020, they worked at WAGO Kontakttechnik as a Bachelor Thesis student for a few months. Yannik's career then took him to NixOS in 2020, where they started as a Freelance Software Engineer. In 2021, they took on the role of a Summer of Nix Mentor, and later became a Software Engineer. At NixOS, Yannik was responsible for implementing the new backend of search.nixos.org with support for Nix Flakes. Additionally, they maintained the search functionality. In 2021, Yannik also had an opportunity to work on their Master Thesis at Tweag, where they implemented a language server for the Nickel Programming Language. Yannik's most recent work experience is as a Software Engineer at Flox, starting in 2022.

Yannik Sander has a diverse educational background. Yannik earned their Master's degree in Software Engineering of Distributed Systems from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, studying from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Computer Science from Bielefeld University, graduating in 2020. Yannik's earlier education includes completing their Abitur at Helmholtz-Gymnasium Bielefeld from 2009 to 2017.

Alongside their academic achievements, Yannik also obtained additional certifications. Yannik obtained a Language Certificate English: C1 from DAAD German Academic Exchange Service in February 2020. In June 2018, they earned the designation of Stipendiatensprecher from Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes.
