Kan Zhang has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. They began their career as an Engineered Truss Designer at Star Building Materials in 2007 and then transitioned to become an Engineered Floor Designer at the same company in 2008. Later in 2008, they worked as a Transportation Planning Student at MMM Group and as a Research Assistant at the University of Waterloo in 2009. Kan then joined Halcrow Yolles as a Structural Engineer Student before becoming self-employed as a Mobile-App Developer from 2012 to 2014. They then worked as a Software Engineer at Axiom Zen from 2014 to 2019. During their time at Axiom Zen, they contributed to the creation of innovative software-based products and helped improve the lives of millions. Following that, Kan joined Dapper Labs as an Engineering Manager in 2019 and was eventually promoted to the position of Director of Engineering in 2022. Currently, they are the Head of Engineering at Flow Blockchain, starting in 2023.
Kan Zhang began their education in 2006 at the University of Waterloo, where they pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science degree. Kan specialized in Civil Engineering with a focus on Management Sciences Option. Kan successfully completed this program in 2011.
Following this, in 2011, Kan Zhang enrolled at The University of British Columbia, where they pursued a Bachelor of Computer Science degree. Kan completed their studies in Computer Science in 2013.
