Phillip Humphrey's work experience includes being the Director of Agricultural Operations at Florida Crystals since May 2022. Prior to this role, they served as a Farm Manager at the same company from July 2015 to May 2022. In this position, they were responsible for various tasks such as crop planting, land preparation, irrigation, crop cultivation, and managing a team of up to 150 employees. Phillip also significantly increased production through strategic variety selection, teamwork collaboration, and improved planning. Before joining Florida Crystals, Phillip worked as a Ranch Supervisor at DD Farms from March 2012 to December 2013, where they were responsible for seed procurement, maintaining farming practices, and overseeing herd health. Phillip also has experience in the US Navy, where they served as an HM2 (FMF)- Line Corpsman from February 2008 to May 2013.

Phillip Humphrey completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Florida Atlantic University between 2018 and 2020. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Agriculture, General from Texas State University, which they completed between 2012 and 2014. In addition to their formal education, Phillip also holds the certification of "Florida Restricted Use Pesticide Lic." It is unclear when and from which institution they obtained this certification.
