Dave Sobush has extensive experience in research, policy, and economic development. Dave is currently working as the Director of Research and Policy at the Florida College Access Network since 2023. Before that, they were the Director of Research at the Florida Chamber of Commerce from 2022 to 2023.

From 2015 to 2022, Dave worked at the Tampa Bay Partnership as the Director of Policy and Research. In this role, they provided research support and interpreted information for the organization's public policy and advocacy programs. Dave also led the development and production of the annual Regional Competitiveness Report, benchmarking Tampa Bay against other markets in terms of economic competitiveness.

Prior to that, Dave served as the Business Intelligence Manager at Hillsborough County from 2013 to 2015. In 2010, they joined the Tampa Bay Partnership again, first as the Vice President of Regional Business Planning and Development from 2012 to 2013, where they oversaw the implementation of a regional business plan for job creation and economic resiliency. Dave also worked as the Business Intelligence Officer from 2010 to 2012, providing insightful interpretation of information for economic development marketing and public policy.

Before their time at the Tampa Bay Partnership, Dave was the Business Development Manager at Pinellas County Economic Development from 2007 to 2010, and the Economic Development Coordinator at the City of St. Petersburg from 2005 to 2007.

Dave's career began at the USF Center for Economic Development Research in 2003, where they served as the Associate Director from 2005 to 2005, and as a Research Associate from 2003 to 2005.

Dave Sobush earned their Bachelor of Arts and Master of Education degrees in History and Social Studies Education respectively from the University of Florida, where they studied from 1994 to 1999. Dave later pursued and completed an MBA with a focus in Finance and Economics at the University of South Florida from 2001 to 2003. Before entering college, Dave attended Countryside High School. Dave also holds additional certifications, including Certified Global Business Professional from NASBITE International in September 2014, and Certified Economic Developer from the International Economic Development Council in October 2008.
