Daniel Lee has over a decade of work experience in the software engineering industry. Daniel began their career in 2009 as a Teaching Assistant at the National University of Singapore. In 2010, they joined Haileo Inc. as a Software Engineer, where they independently learnt Hadoop and AWS to write applications that ran at scale to train image classification models, and created visualizations to demonstrate product capabilities to potential investors. In 2012, they joined IBM as a Consultant, and was later promoted to Senior Consultant. At IBM, they managed delivery of interactive front office IT systems for a concept branch targeted at youth, and performed requirements gathering and technical design for a mobile banking application for emerging markets. In 2016, they joined ThoughtWorks as a Consultant, where they partnered with clients in a full-stack capacity to deliver software projects spanning a wide range of technologies including React Native, Node & Rails. Daniel employed industry best practices such as agile, test automation & DevOps. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Flip as a Staff Software Engineer.
Daniel Lee's education history includes a Bachelor of Computing in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore, which they obtained between 2009 and 2012. Daniel also attended Stanford University between 2010 and 2011, studying Management Science & Engineering. Prior to that, they studied Information Technology (Enterprise Computing) at Temasek Polytechnic between 2003 and 2006. In addition, they have obtained certifications from Coursera in Subsistence Marketplaces (2014), An Introduction to Financial Accounting (2013), Computational Investing, Part I (2013), Competitive Strategy (2013), Gamification (2012), Introduction to Finance (2012), and Networked Life (2012). Daniel also holds a CKAD: Certified Kubernetes Application Developer certification from The Linux Foundation (2020) and a Cloudera Certified Hadoop Developer certification.
