Lauren K Dougherty, M.A., is an accomplished academic and creative professional with a diverse background in teaching, editing, and research. Currently serving as a Graduate Teaching Associate at the University of California, Riverside, Lauren also instructs high school seniors in essay development at FLEX College Prep. As an editor and ghostwriter for The UnCommon Octopus, Lauren focuses on nonfiction projects, while contributing artwork to Rough Cut Press as a multi-media artist. Lauren's leadership experience includes serving as Alumni President of the International Psychology Honors Society, alongside previous research roles in various organizations, including the National Council on Crime and Delinquency and Mills Cognition Lab. Lauren holds a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction from the University of California, Riverside, a Master of Arts from New York University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Mills College.
