Jamie Thomson has extensive work experience in various IT roles. They have worked at multiple companies, including Fletcher Building, Treasury Wine Estates, Fosters Group, Oracle, and Laing & Cruickshank Investment Management Ltd. Their roles have included Head of IT, Manager Manufacturing & Finance Applications, Applications Manager, JDE Business Analyst, Senior Business Analyst, IT Manager, Business Analyst, JDE CNC / Technical Consultant, and IT Support Analyst. Throughout their career, Jamie has been responsible for various tasks such as project management, system analysis, technical support, and network infrastructure management.

Jamie Thomson completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History from Royal Holloway, University of London, from 1994 to 1997. Later, from 2011 to 2013, Jamie obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Business with a focus on Business Administration and Management, General from The University of Auckland.
