Michele Caramello has extensive experience in the technology industry. Michele began their career in 2005 as a Researcher at Politecnico di Torino, where they worked on a thesis project on peer-to-peer and the design of a mechanism using Game Theory to induce cooperation among users throughout bandwidth sharing. In 2006, they joined Cisco Systems as a Software Engineer/Hardware Architect, where they were part of the Modeling & Simulation team and focused on hardware architectures for ASICs being part of the Data Center Nexus 7000’s release. Michele also interned at Cisco Systems as a Software Engineer/Hardware Architect with the Modeling & Simulation Team in the Data Center Business Unit. In 2009, they moved to InvenSense, Inc. as a Senior Manager of Software Testing. From 2013 to 2018, they worked at Treasure Data as VP of Engineering, Director of Engineering, and Director of QA Engineering. In 2018, Treasure Data was acquired by Arm, and they continued to head the Engineering organization in charge of delivering the original Data platform and its planned expansion as Senior Director of Engineering. In 2020, Treasure Data was spun back off as an independent company under Softbank, and they continued to head the Engineering organization in charge of delivering on the company's strategy from a product development perspective as Senior VP of Engineering. Currently, Michele is the VP of Platform Engineering at Fletch, where they are leading the Platform Engineering team covering Data Platform and ETL, Operations, Infrastructure, and QA Engineering.
Michele Caramello obtained a BS & MS in Telecommunications Engineering from Politecnico di Torino between 1999 and 2005.
