Peter Salas has a diverse work experience starting with their current role as a Software Engineer at Fixie.ai since February 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Principal Engineer at OctoML from November 2020 to February 2023. Before joining OctoML, Peter spent a significant amount of time at Microsoft. Peter held the positions of Principal Software Engineer from September 2018 to November 2020, Senior Software Engineer from September 2014 to August 2018, and Software Development Engineer II (SDE II) from September 2012 to August 2014. In these roles, they worked on various projects related to Internet Explorer, including updating CSS Flexbox implementation, introducing compatibility for legacy syntax, and adapting layout invalidation and lifetime model. Prior to that, they were a Software Development Engineer (SDE) at Microsoft from August 2010 to August 2012, where they contributed to the layout features of Internet Explorer 10, specifically CSS multicolumn and grid layouts. Peter started their career as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard University in 2009, where they taught sections, held office hours, and developed/graded assignments for CS 61 and CS 51 courses. Peter also interned as a Software Development Intern at Microsoft in 2009, where they implemented a tool for converting recorded frames to standalone C++ programs for debugging and experimentation.

Peter Salas attended Harvard University from 2006 to 2010, where they obtained an A.B. degree in Computer Science.
