Anthony Knittel has held various positions in the field of research and teaching. From 2019 to present, they have been a Senior Research Scientist at Five AI. From 2014 to 2019, they were a Senior Research Scientist at Canon Information Systems Research Australia Pty. Ltd. From 2013 to 2014, they were a Lecturer at UNSW, where they were responsible for course development and was lecturer-in-charge of 4th year/postgrad classes on Neural Networks and Advanced Neural Networks, as well as a guest lecturer for Human-Computer Interaction. Anthony also created content for a dedicated course on deep learning. From 2005 to 2013, they were a Researcher at the Center for the Mind, where they studied self-organised development of hierarchical feature/concept networks, which was connected to cognitive processes that are atypical in autism. From 2004 to 2005, they were a Research Assistant at CSIRO.
Anthony Knittel obtained their Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science and Cognitive Science from UNSW in 2013.
