Kristen Alters has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Kristen started their career as a Family Readiness Support Tech at the U.S. Department of the Army in 2010. Kristen then worked as a Legal Intern at Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center and the El Paso County Attorney's Office in 2009. From 2006 to 2008, Kristen served as a Family Law Legal Assistant at The Carlson Law Firm.
In 2011, Kristen joined Fragomen as an Assistant Paralegal I, where they prepared and filed various U.S. non-immigrant visa petitions and applications. Kristen later took on roles as an Assistant Paralegal II and Paralegal/HR Specialist, providing comprehensive immigration-related HR and legal support, managing I-9/E-Verify programs, and conducting audits and trainings. Kristen also served as a Supervising HR Immigration Coordinator/HR Specialist, collaborating with stakeholders and business partners to enhance employment life cycles for foreign national employees.
In 2019, Kristen joined Facebook as a US Immigration Partner, and in 2021, they transitioned to Netflix as an Immigration Program Manager and subsequently an Immigration Manager. Currently, they are working at FITT Finder, Inc. as the Director of Talent and Operations, where they oversee all talent functions in an early-stage startup, focusing on HR operations, talent acquisition, culture, and team cohesion. Kristen is highly experienced in immigration and HR, with expertise in non-immigrant visa processes, program management, and strategic problem-solving.
Kristen Alters has a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Central Michigan University, which they obtained between 2002 and 2005. Kristen later pursued a Master of Science degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Southern California, completing it between 2017 and 2018. In 2019, Kristen Alters obtained the Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) Certification from the HR Certification Institute.
