Vu Hoang Van has extensive experience in the engineering and operations field. Vu began their career as a Maintenance Engineer at Fujitsu Computer Products of Vietnam, Inc. in 2002 and later worked as a Maintenance Manager at Pdussmann Vietnam. From 2009 to 2011, they served as the Head of Facility & Engineering Department at Amway, where they managed resources and daily activities to support manufacturing operations.
In 2012, Vu joined Aldila Inc as a Maintenance Manager before transitioning to RCR Infrastructure in 2013 as an Operations & Maintenance Manager. Vu then worked at RCR Tomlinson as a Site Operations Manager, where they were responsible for Facilities Management for a chip manufacturer.
Since 2017, Vu has worked at First Solar, initially as a Senior Site Facilities & Equipment Engineering Manager. In this role, they led the startup team and managed the construction and setup of new solar manufacturing plants in Vietnam. Vu also oversaw facilities and equipment maintenance services. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Module Engineering & Operations at First Solar, where they lead a team responsible for module manufacturing operations in a multi-GW PV Module Factory.
Vu Hoang Van has a diverse education history. In 2003, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical Engineering from HCM University Technical of Education. Vu pursued further education in various fields, including business administration and management, project management, energy management, leadership and management, and key performance indicator (KPI) setting. Vu earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Business Administration and Management, General from Leipzig University in 2017. Additionally, they received certifications in facility management, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), innovation and change, problem-solving and decision-making, bottle filling packaging training, operations and maintenance, sensing devices and PLC, low voltage electrical maintenance, Festo-Pneumatic operations and maintenance. Recently, in 2020, Van obtained certifications in NFPA70E from NFPA and Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) from the Association of Asset Management Professionals.
