Matt Ryan has an extensive work experience in the gaming industry. Matt is currently the CTO and Co-Founder of First Light Games Ltd since September 2018. Prior to that, they served as the Tech Lead at PLAYRMAKR from September 2016 to August 2018. Matt also worked as a CGT Programmer at NaturalMotion from April 2014 to November 2016 and as a Senior Programmer at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe from August 2011 to April 2014. Before that, they held a Tools Programmer CTG position at Lionhead Studios from August 2009 to August 2011, a Programmer role at Juice Games from September 2005 to August 2009, and started their career as a Junior Programmer at Warthog Games Limited from April 2005 to August 2005.

Matt Ryan completed their education in a chronological manner. From 1999 to 2003, they attended the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, where they obtained a BEng (Hons) in Digital & Software Systems Engineering. Following this, from 2003 to 2004, they pursued an MSc in Computer Science at the University of Hull.
