Hiram Sasser is an experienced legal professional currently serving as Executive General Counsel and previously General Counsel at First Liberty Institute since June 2016. Sasser has also been an Adjunct Professor of Law at both Oklahoma City University School of Law and The University of Texas at Austin since August 2018 and January 2019, respectively. Prior to these roles, Sasser was Chief of Staff for the Texas Attorney General for a brief period in 2016 and held the position of Deputy Chief Counsel at First Liberty Institute from 2002 to 2016. Sasser's legal practice involves managing a national litigation portfolio focused on constitutional law and civil rights, as well as developing media strategies for significant legal cases. Sasser has military experience as a Company Commander and Training Officer with the U.S. Army Reserve from 1999 to 2002. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in History from Oklahoma State University and a Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law.
