Karen McGonigal has a strong background in information technology and project management. Karen started their career in 1998 at Corning Federal Credit Union as a Technology Services Supervisor and later became a Project Manager. In 2006, they joined Corning Credit Union as a Technical Services Supervisor. Karen then worked at Dresser-Rand Company as a Transportation & Logistics Global Commodity Specialist from 2010 to 2011. From 2011 to 2014, they were employed as a Technical Project Manager at Guthrie Health. In 2014, they joined First Heritage Federal Credit Union as an IT Manager and later became the VP of Information Technology in November 2017.

Karen McGonigal has a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from Elmira College, which they obtained from 2008 to 2012. Prior to that, from 1987 to 1989, they pursued an Associate in Applied Science degree in Accounting from Alfred State College - SUNY College of Technology.
