Born and raised on a farm in the rural Warsaw area that grew row-crops, raised Hereford cattle and also had a commercial hog production unit, he knew what it meant to scrape the pens! Mark was a 9 year 4-H member, baled a lot of hay, and was involved with several sports teams at his high school with his football team still being a true sense of pride and joy. After high school, he attended Purdue University for the next 6 years, obtaining a Doctorates Degree in Veterinary Medicine. He returned to northern Indiana and practiced in a large animal practice for the next year and a half. In March of 1986, he joined the veterinary staff at the Kem Road Animal Hospital in Marion, Indiana, where he was fully employed as a mixed animal practitioner for the next 29 years, and still continues to do a small amount of livestock veterinary consulting yet today. In April of 1997, he was fortunate to be able to serve on the board of directors of First Farmers Bank & Trust and continued to serve until the summer of 2015 when he joined the staff at First Farmers Bank & Trust in a full time role . Mark has been blessed with a great family, an extremely dry sense of humor, and the ability to seem to somehow always have a role as some part of an outstanding team. Being part of the incredibly talented team at First Farmers Bank & Trust, was what drew him to become a full time ‘team member’. It is a true honor to help serve the financial needs of our growing diverse customer base while still being able to remain with a business that helps the greatest farmers in the world grow their business to help feed the world.
